About UsSage Creek Equestrian began as a dream shared by trainers and teachers, Jim and Donnette Hicks. Their vision was to create a facility and learning environment that would support the growth and well-being of the their students and horses and embrace various disciplicines supported by a solid base in the fundamentals of good horsemanship. In January 2005 Sage Creek Equestrian finally opened it's doors and a retinue of loyal students and their horses have taken up residence. In the spring of 2008 Jim and Donnette partnered with Portuguese trainer and breeder Don Francesco to import select Lusitano horses from Portugal. These horses are selected for the wonderful temperaments, elegant movement, natural carriage and superb trainability. Although Sage Creek is centered around the discipline of dressage, we encompass all disciplines including reining, trail riding, jumping, driving, western horsemanship and more with our goal to develop a confident, educated rider and a well-balanced and willing equine partner. Thanks to our loyal customers and the people that encouraged us to devolop our dream.
